Wedding Rings

A wedding ring or wedding band is a finger ring that indicates that its wearer is married. It is usually forged from metal, and traditionally is forged of gold or another precious metal. The engagement ring stands for the promise of marriage, it symbolises devotion and commitment to the beloved partner. The shape of the ring already indicates its meaning: it is circular – without beginning and end – and thus it has become a universal sign of eternal love and faithfulness, perfection and infinity. Wedding rings symbolise eternal love and commitment within a relationship. This emblem of love is exchanged between two people on their wedding day and worn to show the world they are married. A promise ring, sometimes known as a pre-engagement ring, is given in a relationship to signify commitment. Whilst for many young couples a promise ring means a vow of an engagement ring to come, others may simply use it to show their loyalty and devotion to their partner. In the majority, wearing a ring on the left ring finger symbolizes marriage. Engagement rings and wedding rings are worn on the left finger and so do promise rings. A romantic partner gives promise rings to symbolize commitment and monogamy. The ring finger is most commonly associated with wedding symbolism in the United States and much of North and South America. A ring on the right fourth finger represents engagement, while a band on the left fourth finger represents marriage. It is linked with the Greek God Apollo. Jewelry is a symbol of a woman`s feelings, they can remind her of her greatest love and greatest work achievement. They can connect her to her feminine side more than any other item, and make her feel beautiful even if she does not feel that way.
